Senior Strategic Finance & Market Modeling Analyst
Strategic Finance & Market Modeling Analyst
Build the economic models behind the physical AI models that drive autonomous systems and new markets.
About PassiveLogic®
PassiveLogic is the first fully autonomous platform for buildings. We’ve reinvented the fundamental principles of automation to democratize technology, optimize buildings, and reduce the world’s carbon footprint. We are a team of technologists, engineers, and creatives dedicated to making a sustainable impact through real-world solutions.
We are looking for team members who have a passion for technology and want to work on cutting-edge problems with real-world solutions. Our culture is built on bringing together the most talented engineers, thinkers, and creatives—backed by the world’s leading investors—working together to make the future a reality.
About the Role
We’re looking for a very specific kind of thinker: part strategic finance architect, part market anthropologist, part data-systems engineer. Someone who can take a chaotic, multi-variable world and translate it into models that behave like small universes, revealing what drives outcomes and which levers actually matter.
What we’re not looking for: An accountant. A spreadsheet jockey. Someone whose modeling method is adding another tab called Final_v7_REAL.
You love architecting durable, elegant model systems, not throwaway calculators. You’re fascinated by how technology works, why customers adopt it, how ecosystems form, and what invisible forces shape markets.
At PassiveLogic, your models will sit beside physics-based ontologies, autonomy engines, and markets that shift every quarter. If you enjoy connecting dots others don’t even see, you’ll thrive here.
What you’ll do
Build simulation-grade pro forma and financial models that drive product strategy, pricing, capital planning, and long-range decision-making.
Architect market frameworks across regions (EU, US, APAC), including regulatory triggers and adoption curves.
Analyze customer behavior, partner economics, and ecosystem dynamics to uncover hidden leverage.
Run pricing tests, cohort analyses, and scenario trees for major product and market decisions.
Build data pipelines and dashboards that keep the team aligned with real-world signals.
Translate complex findings into clear narrative insights for leadership and board discussions.
Deliver models that don’t just report—they advise, simulate, and reveal strategy.
Who You Are
• You think in systems, not rows and columns.
• You architect models that operate like software, not spreadsheets.
• You are deeply curious about technology and markets—causes, effects, relationships, feedback loops—and you love extracting core logic from noise.
• You can zoom from 30,000 feet to cell-level detail without losing the thread.
• You’re the person who says: “Hold up—let’s model this properly.” Yet, at the same time time, you know how to answer to top line question fast, and sketch quick models to quick answers.
• You have a long attention span, strong analytical discipline, and a get-it-right mentality.
• You love big, ambiguous questions and the challenge of bringing clarity to them.
• You tell stories with numbers—turning insight into direction, not just dashboards.
• You tell stories with numbers—turning insight into direction, not just dashboards.
PassiveLogic is a home for people with long attention spans, a love of depth, and a desire to separate signal from noise.
Why This Role Matters
We’re building at the intersection of AI, autonomy, physics, hardware, and software. Scaling this requires models that understand whole systems.
Your models become part of our company operating system. Your insights shape what we build, where we focus, and how fast we grow. Your thinking influences a new category of technology long before the broader market catches up.
If you want a role where your intellectual horsepower directly shapes the company’s trajectory, this is it.
What Success Looks Like (3–6 Months)
• Evolve our current pro forma model into the single source of truth for the company.
• Deliver dashboards and intelligence that make the team feel like they’re seeing around corners.
• Surface hidden leverage across pricing, margins, GTM focus, and product sequencing.
• Equip leadership with defensible, dynamic models for strategic and investor decisions.
• Become the person people consult before they make a big decision.
What you’ll bring
If your experience does not meet all our posted requirements below, we’d still love to hear from you. We are looking for practitioners who are passionate about understanding people, committed to lifelong learning, and driven by the love of what they do. If that’s you, please apply!
You must have
BS/BA in economics, finance, data science, business, engineering, or equivalent.
5+ years in strategic finance, data modeling, or market analysis roles.
A portfolio of your best models; we care about craftsmanship.
Deep experience with financial modeling, market research, or analytics.
Proven ability to build complex, elegant spreadsheet systems—operational software disguised as rows and columns.
Comfortable across multiple tools; you haven’t spent your life locked inside Excel.
Collaborative, ownership-minded, and able to navigate diverse perspectives.
You should have
Experience with logistics, manufacturing, or complex hardware/software ecosystems.
Solid programming skill (Python, JavaScript, Swift, Julia, R, etc.).
Experience with data science tools (SQL, Pandas/NumPy, dbt, Jupyter, etc.).
Experience designing data workflows or lightweight ETL systems.
Ability to model unit economics for hardware + software business models.
Experience performing structured market research.
Familiarity with cost curves, adoption curves, and ecosystem dynamics.
It’s helpful to have
Understanding of regulatory-driven markets (energy, building automation, labor, logistics, AI governance).
Experience modeling multi-market rollouts, marketplaces, or partner ecosystems.
Experience with HVAC, industrial systems, logistics modeling, or labor markets.
Experience with simulation, scenario trees, Monte Carlo methods, or probabilistic modeling.
Understanding of how capital-intensive, manufacturing-heavy markets behave.
Experience forecasting adoption for disruptive or platform technologies.
We know there are candidates who might not fit everything we’ve described above, or who might have experience and skills we haven’t considered. PassiveLogic can sometimes be flexible enough to shift responsibilities to the right person, or otherwise identify open or upcoming roles that may better fit your professional background. Even if you don’t meet all the requirements above, we still want to hear from you.
