We are a team of technologists, engineers, and creatives dedicated to making a sustainable impact through real-world solutions.
We are looking for team members who have a passion for technology and want to work on cutting-edge problems with real-world solutions. Our culture is built on bringing together the most talented engineers, thinkers, and creatives—backed by the world’s leading investors—working together to make the future a reality.
About the Role
This is a career-defining opportunity to play a crucial role in a hyper-scale AI company that is transforming the future of autonomous systems, energy, and the built environment.
As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you’ll spearhead the development of a new product, owning it from zero to manufacture. You’ll collaborate closely with mechanical, industrial design, and verification/validation (V&V) teams to deliver a robust, innovative solution. This role demands a disciplined, independent leader with stellar embedded software skills, a systems-level mindset and the ability to self-teach and solve tough problems. You’ll shape the product’s vision, drive its execution, and ensure it meets our exacting standards for quality and efficiency.
What you’ll do
Develop embedded systems: Lead the end-to-end development of an ultra-low-power wireless device, from architecture design to high-volume production; Write and optimize production-ready C code for embedded systems running TI-RTOS and Zephyr RTOS.
Develop software and version control: Leverage Git for version control, maintaining clean, modular codebases and streamlined team workflows; Use Python, Bash, and Linux to automate workflows, analyze data, and enhance development processes.
Optimization and systems engineering: Apply math and physics expertise for power accounting and systems-of-systems optimization in resource-constrained environments.
Test and validate embedded systems: Design and implement HIL/SIL testing frameworks to validate robust, fail-safe code before V&V handoff; Collaborate with mechanical and industrial design teams to align on product vision, and partner with V&V to ensure flawless execution.
Integrate hardware and debug software: Perform hands-on board bring-up and system debugging to integrate hardware and software seamlessly.
Prepare technical documentation: Maintain meticulous documentation and communicate progress/design intent in regular manager syncs.
What you’ll bring
If your experience does not meet all our posted requirements below, we’d still love to hear from you. We are looking for practitioners who are passionate about understanding people, committed to lifelong learning, and driven by the love of what they do. If that’s you, please apply!
You must have
- Proven experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field—or proven exceptional ability through experience.
- 5+ years in embedded software development, with deep expertise in C and real-time operating systems (TI-RTOS, Zephyr RTOS).
- Proficiency in Git for version control, collaboration, and maintaining high-quality codebases.
- Strong skills in Python, Bash, and Linux for scripting and system management.
- Track record of delivering high-quality, production-grade code with rigorous HIL/SIL testing.
- Strong systems-level thinking for ultra-low-power wireless designs, backed by solid math and physics fundamentals.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and documentation skills to lead, mentor, and align teams.
- Organized and Strategic: Organized, disciplined approach to project leadership and a passion for owning the big picture.
- Collaborative Mindset: Thrives in team-oriented environments, working closely with electrical engineers, product designers, and other stakeholders to integrate hardware and software seamlessly.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, eager to learn, iterate, and innovate.
- Problem solving: You own this role. When issues arise, be the empowered force that solves them, rolling-up; A self-driven mindset—able to independently research, learn, and solve complex challenges.
You should have
- Experience with schematic capture and board layout using Altium.
- Familiarity with engineering design and analysis using spreadsheets (e.g., power budgeting, system modeling).
- Knowledge of ultra-low-power wireless protocols (e.g., IEEE 802.15.4, BLE, 900MHz)or RF design.
- Background in mentoring junior engineers or leading cross-functional teams.
- Personal projects showcasing initiative and technical depth (include these with your application!).
It’s helpful to have
- Familiarity with the startup environment.
