About the Role

As a Platform Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll be designing, developing and maintaining embedded software and firmware for key components of PassiveLogic's ecosystem: the Sense Touch and the Hive Mini:
- The Sense Touch - one of the world’s smallest touchscreen multi-sensor that brings together beautiful industrial design with actionable insights with eight sensors that monitor air temperature, radiant temperature, humidity, indoor air quality, atmospheric pressure, light intensity, occupancy, and sound pressure.
- The Hive Mini - extends autonomous platforms to remote I/O, providing distributed control and a digital twin gateway for wired and wireless IoT devices.The Hive Mini - extends autonomous platforms to remote I/O, providing distributed control and a digital twin gateway for wired and wireless IoT devices.
What you’ll do
Design and Implement Software and Firmware: Create software and firmware for our groundbreaking embedded platforms that is robust, functional, power-efficient, and feature-rich.
Define, Manage, and Execute Software Releases: Oversee the software release process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
Collaborate on Feature Development: Work with platform architects, product management, and product design teams to architect and implement new features from initial concept to productization.
Ensure Platform Robustness: Use a structured and efficient approach to bug management.

You must have
- Proven Experience: 3+ years (5+ preferred) of software engineering experienc, and strong proficiency in C.
- Exceptional communication skills: Ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment within and outside of your team.
- Organized and strategic: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Collaborative Mindset: Strong self-motivation towards PassiveLogic’s mission to “empower people through generative autonomy to solve the world’s largest climate challenges.”
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, eager to learn, iterate, and innovate.
- Problem solving: You own this role. When issues arise, be the empowered force that solves them, rolling-up.
You should have
- Shipped an embedded product: Demonstrated ability to bring embedded systems from concept to production
- Experience with:
- Leading teams
- RTOS
- Embedded Linux
It’s helpful to have
- Strong academic foundation: BS, MS, or PhD in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other Engineering degrees
- Experience working in a startup: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of Tegra
- Experience with
- Swift language development
- Implementing and troubleshooting wireless protocols (Zigbee, BLE, Wifi)
- Relevant personal projects: Hands-on experience through personal projects and a love for what you do!
