About the Role

As our Senior Accountant, you will oversee and hold responsibility for all operational accounting functions within a global and scaling startup environment. You will manage day-to-day purchasing, invoicing, payments, process control & implementation, all GL entries, financial reports, and more.
What you’ll do
Manage accounting policies and procedures: Manage the development, implementation and modifications of accounting policies, procedures, and process improvements/best practices.
Prepare and distribute financial reports: Collaborate with the Operations team via Apple Numbers; Create, organize, and maintain files using QuickBooks Online.
Operational accounting: Create customer invoices, support team members in their vendor interactions, issue purchase orders, issue payments, research problems, and provide consistent follow-up; Document and enforce policies, processes, and procedures; Process wire transfers and international PEO payments.
International accounting: Manage the accounting needs of PassiveLogic entities overseas, ensuring standardized processes across our international offices while adhering to diverse accounting standards in the countries where we operate.
Audit payroll: Audit payroll, including entries for taxable benefits, reimbursements, and allocation of payments to the GL.
Work on year-end activities & audits: Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries and reports.
Team building: Assist with the recruitment process; participate in interviews and hiring decisions.

You must have
- Proven experience: 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Exceptional communication skills: Ensure continual communication with the Chief of Staff and other members of the Operations Team to ensure accurate and smooth flow of financial accounting information.
- Organized and strategic: Quantitative analytical skills with an ability to analyze and audit data to detect errors.
- Collaborative mindset: Enjoy working across teams, collaborating effectively across departments to meet diverse accounting needs.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, eager to learn, iterate, and innovate.
- Problem solving: You own this role. When issues arise, be the empowered force that solves them, rolling-up.
You should have
- Proficiency in accounting tools: Experience in Apple Numbers, Quickbooks, and other accounting tools.
- Creative and adept approach to accounting: Willingness to challenge certain cost assumptions and implement new processes or make significant enhancements to existing processes.
It’s helpful to have
- A CPA license
- Tech industry or start-up experience: Previous experience in bolstering the accounting processes of a globally scaling startup.
