What you will be doing

This position will:

• Translate PassiveLogic's business needs into architectural designs and implementation plans
• Build and prototype new services for our building automation platform
• Design, develop and deploy large-scale cloud services; Components include API design, distributed systems design, cloud system monitoring and maintenance, and data collection and aggregation — all with a focus on security and scalability

You must have

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years experience in software development in various languages (C/C++, Swift, Golang, etc.)
• Professional experience writing backend web services
• Experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure
• An understanding of database principles and comfort writing SQL
• Experience instrumenting and monitoring cloud-based applications
• Experience with software engineering best practices, including common design patterns, SOLID principles, efficient algorithms/data structures, etc
• Self-motivation, passion for technology, and a strong drive for results and continuous improvement
• Strong communication skills

You should have

• Experience presenting software systems and negotiating buy-in
• Experience operating and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
• Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members

• GitLab CI/CD experience
• PostgreSQL experience
