Senior Software Engineer
What you will be doing
This position will:
- Translate PassiveLogic's business needs into architectural designs and implementation plans
- Build and prototype new services for our building automation platform
- Design, develop and deploy large-scale cloud services; Components include API design, distributed systems design, cloud system monitoring and maintenance, and data collection and aggregation — all with a focus on security and scalability

You must have
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years experience in software development in various languages (C/C++, Swift, Golang, etc.)
- Professional experience writing backend web services
- Experience provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure
- An understanding of database principles and comfort writing SQL
- Experience instrumenting and monitoring cloud-based applications
- Experience with software engineering best practices, including common design patterns, SOLID principles, efficient algorithms/data structures, etc
- Self-motivation, passion for technology, and a strong drive for results and continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills
You should have
- Experience presenting software systems and negotiating buy-in
- Experience operating and maintaining Kubernetes clusters
- Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members
